Metal perforated plate corrugated packing is a general-purpose structured packing with large flux, low pressure drop and low cost. Standard models range from 125Y to 500X, including the widely used 250Y.
Corrugated metal sheets with small holes, stacked into blocks inside a column. The most common, all-round type of structured packing.

Product Description
Metal perforated plate corrugated packing is a general-purpose packing with large flux, low resistance and pressure drop, high mass transfer and separation efficiency, low cost and good anti-blocking performance. The standard models are listed below, and non-standard packing can be made for special process requirements. It is used in columns with diameters above 15 m.
250Y is the most common general-purpose model.
How It Works
Corrugated metal sheets are stacked in blocks with the corrugations of neighbouring sheets crossing each other. Liquid runs down the sheets as a film, helped by small holes and surface texture, while vapour rises through the channels between them.
The letter in the model name gives the angle of the corrugations: Y types (45°) give higher efficiency, X types (60°, measured from the horizontal) give higher capacity and lower pressure drop.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does "250Y" mean?
250 is the specific surface in m²/m³. "Y" means a corrugation angle of 45° for higher efficiency; "X" means 60° (measured from the horizontal) for higher capacity.
Which model should I choose?
It depends on the separation and the gas and liquid loads. 250Y is a common general-purpose choice – send us your process data and we recommend a model.
Can you make non-standard packing?
Yes. Besides the standard models from 125Y to 500X, non-standard packing can be made for special requirements.
